As always we are refurbishing as much as possible. Christine has been working with Sarah Jane Neilson on Wetherlam and Troutbeck – we hope you like them!

Wetherlam 

Wetherlam is a cosy, bright and airy room at the very top of the house. New England shutters in crisp white, alongside early white painted furniture gives it a simple, casual and slightly Scandinavian feel. Modern in its printed linens, striped wallpaper and contrast mustard yellow tones on a duck egg base.

The usual “Gilpin” comfort and warmth is created using tactile textures, plaids and faux fur for throws with big bush fringes on the huggable oversized  bed cushions. The all new white ceramic bathroom in the eaves (part with low ceiling) has a beautiful freestanding bath and the prettiest wallpaper.

Troutbeck

Troutbeck offers a natural, earthy warmth almost organic in its  character, with French light oak furniture, lots of wood, leather and warm textured fabrics. Silk shades, linen hemps, herringbones and flat weaves pull the room together and introduce the outside in – as do the newly added patio doors leading to Troutbeck’s own roof terrace.

Light khaki and cream finishes, with fabulous Serengeti long hair hides cover the ottoman and footstools. Textured wool throws by Pollack add to the layering of the natural textures, accented with rich chocolate, aqua blue and dark bronze wall lights against the soft weathered oak furniture.
